|Year 2 – Spring Semester Deadlines|
|On or before May 15||Student forms GE Committee and submits a GE proposal (three to five page double-spaced proposal, including research questions and/or hypotheses and description of empirical work) (references, tables, and figures are not included in the page count).|
|May 30||GE Committee Feedback: The chair is responsible to getting feedback from the committee on GE Proposal and providing feedback to the student on or before May 30.|
|May 30 – First day of Fall Semester||Student works on GE: The student is encouraged to consult with GE Committee members to set interim deadlines and reviews.|
|Year 3 – Fall Semester Deadlines|
|First day of class||Student submits GE: to the Marketing Ph.D. Coordinator and the GE Committee.|
|September 15||GE Manuscript Decision: The GE Committee reviews the manuscript and makes a decision – by majority vote to “approve,” “revise and resubmit,” or “reject” the manuscript. The Committee Chair communicates the decision to the student.|
|Approve||Student schedules to present GE research no later than the first Wednesday of December.|
|GE Decision: After the presentation, the Chair records a “PASS” or “FAIL” on the “Report on the General Examination for the Doctoral Degree.”|
|Revise and Resubmit||GE Committee Chair provides “GE Report” (in the form of a journal editor/associate editor report) to the student on or before September 15.|
|Student submits revised GE along with “Responses to GE Report” to GE Committee on or before October 15.|
|GE Committee R&R Decision: The GE Committee reviews the manuscript and makes a decision – by majority vote to “approve” (see “Approve” above) or “reject” (see “Reject” below) the manuscript. The Committee Chair communicates the decision to the student on or before November 1.|
|Reject||GE Committee Chair records an “FAIL” on the “Report on the General Examination for the Doctoral Degree.”.|
|Student is not approved to present the GE.
Student is dismissed from the Marketing Department Ph.D. Program.
